Marla is the oldest of three girls. She was raised by a tobacco farmer and a home economics teacher in Stewart County, Tennessee. She is a graduate of North West High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. Marla received her B.S. in Agriculture in 1992 from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Her major was in Animal Science. She married Rob Ellis the following month. They then moved to Robertson county, where Rob was born and raised. While living in Springfield the first time, they started their family. They have three sons and a daughter. Alex, Will, Ethan and Josie are all grown and have started different chapters of their adult lives. Their family has spent the past 15 years in Greeneville Tennessee. Rob was recently transferred back to Springfield.
Her past job experiences are primarily in bookkeeping, but she has also worked as a customer service/ sales services representative at IMERYS Fused Minerals in Greeneville Tennessee.
Rob and Marla worship at Heads Free Will Baptist Church in Cedar Hill and they are looking forward to what God desires them to do there.
